The Ranch for Canine Training and Behavior

Catherine O’Donnell, CPDT-KA | Director of Training and Behavior | AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator #87457
With exceptional training skills (for both human and canine) and keen ability to assess and rehabilitate problem behaviors, Catherine O’Donnell has established a sterling reputation as a dog trainer and behavior specialist. From Southern California, where her career began, to Central Texas, where she lives and works today, Catherine has developed a training philosophy that teaches dogs to make better decisions without the use of dated or inhumane training techniques. Catherine firmly believes one of the greatest rewards is helping dogs live confident, happy lives, and that training should always be fun, whether your goal is in the competitive arena or your backyard.

During the course of Catherine’s career, she has trained with, and been mentored by, some of the nation’s top trainers and behaviorists. Learning how to properly evaluate temperaments and successfully rehabilitate dogs sparked a passion in Catherine for canine behavior and rehabilitation that has helped define her career and improve the lives of hundreds of dogs. Her experience and success as a behaviorist has put Catherine in a league of her own. For many veterinarians, she is the first call they make when one of their clients presents with a “problem” dog.

Working and training dogs is more than a job to Catherine, it’s her life’s passion. She is devoted to, and incredibly proud of, her 4 Rottweilers, Cash and LunaBella, Sue and Moonshine. Both Cash and LunaBella are Obedience and Rally titled dogs, as well as Registered Therapy Dogs. LunaBella is an AKC Grand Champion and happily employed as a Therapy Dog at Dripping Springs Elementary School. Sue and Moonshine are up and coming in their Show careers (Owner/Handled!), Obedience, Rally, Dock Diving and Lure Coursing.
